This is a docu/comedy that touches on hard times as a modern day shiner deals with his hard to live with new wife, being best friends with wildlife more than humans most of the time and Real life! Living in the Carolina Foothills with his possum George Jones and pet deer Willard he uses for a lookout when he's working on the still, he decides to take on a wife for the first time at age fifty five. He is now confronted with not only adjusting to married life, he's also now having to hide his occupation from her AND the law. This goes beyond reality TV...leaving the viewer convinced-there ain't NO way this stuff is real. But it IS!

Corn oil was reason grandpa preferred white corn over yellow. But would use what ever was available.Ive heard him tell of oil being thick enough on yellow corn to dip it off.Otherwise an felt hat for a filter when he ran it would remove any oil coming across with likker. To me dry corn malt adds an earthy taste while green corn malt has more of a grassy slightly rye like taste.

I noticed that allot of old timers have dried their malted corn, Have you thought about trying it green? I have done a batch with green malt and did a second generation off it, i was real pleased all around with fermenting time and distillate taste. What do you think???
