  • Hey in your video I can hear your car making a rattleing noise as your driving. Mine is doing the exact same thing. Do you know what it is by a chance?

  • @lennemann23

it's a mixture of the shitty road and the fact that the car either had a bad control arm bushings or a fucked wheel bearing.

  • mine does something similar, the power steering light comes on but all my gauges flat line. Then freak out then flat line again. It shifts hard, then it may work for a while perfect.... But its very similar... do you think its the TCM too?

  • @joshuadjohnson22

yes indeed, it's exactly what occurred with my car.

  • Hey can I ask, did you ever have issues w/the car hesitating to shift gears, or shuddering between 1st and 2nd gear? I've been having this issue for 6 months, & my power steering error msg comes on when it happens. None of the mechanics I've been to can figure out what's wrong. They've replaced like 5 different transmission-related parts. So if you had the same problems & replacing the control mod fixed it for you, PLEASE let me know. I need to get this shit locked down.

  • @Kilynn2

yes. ask the dealership to replace the tcm. that should fix the problem.

  • I just found out that there are two different speed senors for the cobalts. One is the intake and the other is outtake. I changed the intake, right at the transmission, there are no signs of an outtake senor. Does anyone have suggestions? THANK YOU !!

  • I have a 05 Cobalt that has the same problem as the video. I change the Transmision speed senor. It's still doing the same thing, does the computer need to reengage? I checked the wires to see if they were burnt or broken, everything looks fine. Anyone has a solution to correct this problem? THANK YOU !!

  • Recently had the same trouble with my 06 Cobalt. Only occured after I took the car in to a Tire Plus shop to get a quick Oil change. They sabotaged my car. While they were underneath they unplugged the speed sensor. Most of these shops do things to Ur vehicles so that they can get more business from U. Thankful I had my uncle to check with his scanner

  • @lennemann23 haha its the control arm's rear bushing, the bushing pops out of its metal ring and allows the control arm to rest against the frame under the floor, and whenever the suspension moves up or down they clatter together, this is so common on cobalts, mine's made that noise for about a year now, not dangerous but does throw your alignment off

  • @Nickocosmicfatplanet My cobalt is doing the same thing right now. I took it to the dealer a week ago they kept it for 3 days and claimed they couldn't find anything wrong with it. After I got it back it drove fine until today. I have been trying to find a tcm but i cant. So is this a part you have to get from the dealer and about how much does it cost to fix. Thanks for your help.

  • my cobalt keeps locking me out so i cant start it then i leave it for 15-20 mins then it works then it dies then works

  • american cars suck

  • @Nickocosmicfatplanet i had to replace both of my lower control arm bushings at 40k miles

  • my car does exactly the same thing and my dealer can't figure it out......
