HDGD is not a sword art that originates from ancient Korea. It was created recently by some persons. The founders testified as such at the Korean law court.

Why doesn't they use the traditional Korean sword “Hwando (環刀) ”? KRIGATA and SAGEO for thrusting into a belt are the features of Japanese sword. It is not the traditional Korean sword.

I can never find such old Korean sword or Korean soldier's photograph.

The traditional Korean sword was hung at the waist or the shoulder.

i must say Gumdo is just copied the surface of Japanese Kendo only without the reason(理)and Samurai spirits.this is not Budo(武道) anymore,Korean changed worst as Korean twiddle leaping dance.

stop to exhibit fake Korean Budo in the Japan Expo in Paris!!!!

the Clans have their own form,we can answer the famous Samurai's name when seeing the form.for example,setting up Katana on right head is Musashi's form and forming the end of Katana downward to left side shoestring catch like quarter moon is Jyubei Yagyu,but its are glitz and eccentrically for the view of technic basically.

Korean style is cool but its like TV show and the form is assembled discretely....

Japanese sword methods is separated about one hundred or more,Yagyu-shnganryu,Yagyu-shi­nkageryu,Muso-shindenryu,Jigo-­tenshinryu etc...

since the families or clans had developed respectively the sword method to fight against

climate in age of civil strife ;Sengoku era(戦国時代).i know Gumdo or Kumudo are style of Korean sword method,but why they didn't have any load...why they become dance twiddle with Katana now?...

coo! he is great. but don't swing around Katana.

Korean Gumdo is very dangerous art,since they let children hold wooden swords or imitation Katana easily.In Japan we can't use its easily till master give the pardon.why Kendo use bamboo sword?since even just wooden or imitation sword can kill.if the children kill other people slily,could you accept the blame? Korean Gumdo show the brassy performances and get many student and money teaching in hazard without any definite knowledge.

Well,

I know that guy, we manage dojang together in Helsinki, Finland.

That time he was 1st dan in WHGF. Nowadays, he does MUCH better - and is 3rd dan in UWHKF. That time when that video was done, Master Han was instructing him. Nowadays, his (and my) teacher is Kim Jeong Seong, Grandmaster of UWHKF. Haedong !!

i'm looking real critically, but i've come to the conclusion that this is a very good form.

i was going to say, lower is always better when practicing forms, but i think i do my forms just as low as this.
