The Killers perform "Joyride" at the Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis on January 19th, 2009. The video is shaky, the audio is decent with a bit of static here and there.

Brandon has a nice speech at the beginning, about memories. The beginning is cut off, but he said something like, "This next song is all about memories." The rest of the speech as follows (if it's difficult to understand...)

"For instance, your first snow cone... riding on a bike with training wheels for the first time... but when I think about it, I think you've had enough of the snow here in Minneapolis... I think it'd be difficult to ride your bike with training wheels in the snow, too... So uh, tonight, this song is about sunshine... this song is about parasailing... or whatever you could dream of, alright?"

  • AMAZING!!! :) thanks for sharing! i loved brandon's speech before the song.

  • I know! It's so poetic with the music in the background... I had no idea it was going to be "Joy Ride"... I thought it was leading up "A Dustland Fairytale"!

  • Lovely speech!

  • Sure. My fault. I didn't put down, just assumed that "for us" would get it across.

  • sorry i was drunk and didnt know you saw it in a different city. peace?

  • Dude. I saw it in New York. This is in Minneapolis. Do you really think I'm deaf and I'd say something totally irrelevant to the concerts?

  • to brambletalonwarrior....: "sunshine. parasailing. whatever you can dream of.... "

    ass

  • For us he said something like "This next song is about dark rooms, and stolen cars," and something about gum on your shoe, and then he goes "and the dancing is always sexy."

  • I loved when he talked in the beginning!

  • I'm so glad you captured him talking!!

  • Shaky or not it's still fantastic! I loved his speech and had myself a nice little giggle at it which made it hard to sing along to! Unfortunately it also reminded me that I was going to have to go out in that snow when the show was over!

  • Aw the speech was awesome. Thanks for the video. :)
