Originally for the 3rd task of PotterTube, my task was to create a horror video. And as I was making this, I realized that I really don't watch horror movies at all... so I hope this works somehow.
Time for the plot! It's a little AU in some places, so bare with me.

Severus Snape had always loved Lily Evans, and when she died, it left him worse than ever. He had forgotten the meaning of life, and would feel eternal hatred toward the man Lily had chosen over him: James Potter. He broods on his tormented memories at his house on Spinner's End, which for the purpose of this video is located high on a hill, and is also filled with ghosts, the most important one being the ghost of his beloved Lily.

During the summer holidays, Dumbledore decides the safest place for Harry, Ron, and Hermione to be is with Snape at his house. This news is resented by all four of them immediately. Snape insists the trio always stay in their room, but never ones for obeying rules, the trio sneak out anyway. As Snape spends yet another evening remembering Lily, Harry finds the Mirror of Erised and gazes longingly at it as he sees his parents there, unknowing of their very ghosts being in the room with him. Snape discovers Harry in the room, and immediately jealous, pulls him out, fearing that Harry will discover how much he loved his mother, and at the same time, seeing James in Harry and wanting the revenge he never had.

So he begins to plot it out, much to Lily's disappointment. The trio continue to sneak around Snape's house and find pictures of Lily and Snape's own journal, and begin to unravel Snape's secret past as a heartless Death Eater and how he loved Lily.

Finally feeling scared to bits, the trio decide that it's time to escape, but Snape has foreseen this and locked the house down. The spirits are on Snape's side, and help to block, torture, and capture the trio on their way to escape. Snape grabs Harry and drags him down to the dungeon of his dark despair, where he vows to finally be triumphant over "James" Potter once and for all....

Right. Well. I hope you enjoy this video, the plot is somewhat random, I think.

Also, I couldn't fit all my credits into the time limit, so:

As always, I own nothing here except my plot! (which is based on things from the HP books anyway, so it's still not really mine).

Films: Harry Potter 1-5
Music: "House Upon the Hill" from The Secret Garden. I couldn't get ahold of the Original Broadway Recording, so I've used audio from the Bergen County Academies' production, which is very good. Go search their production on YouTube and see how fantastic it is. :)
And also, I used "Summer Overture" from Requium for a Dream.

  • Good Job, but Requium for a dream is way overused. Everyone uses it.

  • Yeah, I know, but it was for a "horror trailer", so it was the first thing I thought of.

  • I didn't like the song (no offense, really.) so I watched it with my immortal by evanescence. it worked well.

good video editing! very cool plot line..... would make a good fanfiction.

  • Thanks! I'm glad watching it with My Immortal still worked, since I had the video go pretty specifically with the two songs I used. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • ummm you didn't put this as a vid response can i still vote for you

  • Actually, I did, but last Tuesday when the results came up I made it into the next round. The four videos you see as vid responses are the ones that are nominated for eviction, so you need to vote for one of those.

  • Absolutely fantastic.

It must've taken you a while to make this.

But you combined basically two of my favorite things (HP and SG), which is awesome. Tehe. But yeah. Cool. ;)

  • The Secret Garden songs are the best for creepiness especially when it is in fact a weird story

  • excellent choice of songs. i love requiem despite how oversused it is, and the house upon the hill fit very nicely :]

  • When it started as Requiem for a Dream I thought 'oh no' seeing as the song gets around a bit, but I've not heard this version before, and besides, it fit the chilling mood of the vid. Oh it all fit so well, especially at the end with Snape dragging Harry down she stairs and Lily watching over it all sadly. 5/5

  • I totally get ya. I've wanted to use it for some of my videos but I knew it was overused

    =)

  • Very well done. I like the storyline for this. 5 stars.
