I have listened a lot of different versions of this song and trust each song has its own charm. The real beauty is the song and the feeling behind the song and basic music. There are few variations brought in by different performers but the basic music theme is wonderful.

This performance is different and I dont know the technicalities but it seems that lyrics too are different. But even after that, this is very nice....

firstly i feel that the original version has it's own charm(as most original things do) but please do not say that Lataji ruined it and please definitely don't say she has a crappy voice, because that is very untrue...anyways,does anyone know which raag this is based on?thanks in advance:-)

this is Raag Maad.....especially called Rajasthani Maand....the original song is sung and devoted to the a very special quest who comes to ones house...in traditional Rajashtan. And the song is nice. God bless

with due respect 2 the original version i request u 2 restrain frm posting such comments when it is clear that u r not only immature but hav no sense of music. Lata jee is divine & her voice is blessed.Sung by diffrent artists & performed in various backgrounds this is a folk which has transcended the regional boundaries & enjoyed globaly. Lata jee singing this song is a phenomena and contrary to being ruined possibly it has further reached othr millions of people who might hav not heard it b4.

hey i was just in rajasthan for a vacation and man i am so hungover from that place... i mean everything seems relatively boring now. i am originally from punjab and honestly, the colors, the foods, the clothes, the amount of livliness and variety that i saw in rajsthan i felt like i was back in punjab. but man rajsthan is amazing... if there is one place on this earth weher i could simply go to with my eyes closed it would have to be rajasthan!! loved it!!
