Knocking Noise 22re

Trying to figure out if this is happening in the rocker assembly or if it's something deeper in the block.
Any comments welcomed, thanks

7 months before the problem, i was working on the intake, i remember dropping a bolt and not being able to find it. So, a bolt had fallen into the intake manifold and it finally found it's way into the #4 cylinder, it was a mashed up metal mess inside

Leave it to a 22RE to run 2 years with a bolt inside one of the combustion chambers.

That sounds like multiple rod bearings spun. Good luck with rebuild.

sounds like rod or crank bearing dude . Sorry to see that happen to such an awesome engine.

Sounds like a rod to me, but without being there I can't say that it is not an exhaust leak.
