Well, everything's relative... if you compare the port beach with the other beaches of the island, I guess the word "crap" is well chosen. Of course, compared to most of the European beaches, I guess the port beach is still nice (and that's a French man who says this...).

No, just 2km... But in Folegandros there are no hotels which are closer to the beach (except in the port, where the "beach" is quite crap...). Anyway when you are there you don't feel like moving from the hotel ;-)
