I adore this aria. This version is much more relaxed and tender than the c. 1978 recording. Still very moving. Bonynge is such a fantastic accompanist.

Yes she wore it here, with Pavarotti, and at the Met Centennial Gala, I can remember cause she had large wing-like-bows on her back :D

Even withstanding the poor sound quality, Dame Joan manages to shine through. It is hard to make out, but is the accompanist, husband Richard? Simply wonderful.

I just get in from work at 1am. To one of my favorites from Dame Joan. No mater how bad a day, Coloraturafan, ya always have somethin to cheer us up. Thanks again :)
