@BlueNem0 Hi. The 16-bit displays can be used in standard 65K colors. Though it can also be used in 262K, and I even think it can be used in 16M too.
All it requires is some more clock cycles for each pixel. At 65K only a single clock cycle is required pr. pixel, as it is 16-bit. Though at 262K, which is 18-bit, it will require some more clock cycles.
You can also be lucky to find a display where all 18-bits are brought out to you, then you can do it in one clock cycle.

@killerbee230 The STM32 board is from Futurlec.com and the LCD is from a chinese company - though you can find them on eBay too.

hi ppl jus a quick question pls help.. im looking for an lcd similar to this (wth 262k colour), i found an lcd very similar but it has 16 data-bits connected and it's stated as 262k colour. is that right? 262k with 16bits with no tricks? i keep seeing loads like this. here is an example, go to ebay and search for item 120640315333.

@BlueNem0 Well, I haven't found a small display with that - though I have got a board from TechToys with all 18-bits brought out.
