Download the video file 720resolution that i tested on the devices
http://www.mediafire.com/?fkdylmtz52a

acer f900 powered by samsung chip with horsepower running at 533Mhz while Qualcomm at 528mhz on htc touch HD.
same video have been used on the playback at 720 resolution with mp4 as both device have 800x480 WVGA rresolution on a 3.8 ich LCD
Qualcomm chip that slow down & show choppy playback while samsung have a smooth playback.
Qualcomm cannot handle multitasking when its trying to jump out of the fullscreen and trying to go to program list.
this is also happening on HTC Diamond 2 & Pro 2

  • Acer F900 is running Samsung S3C 6410 533 MHz processor which has DivX/XViD support.

HTC Touch HD is running Qualcomm MSM 7201A 528 MHz processor which not support DivX/XViD.

What a stupid comparison, it's like you are telling me that a bird can fly but cow cant.

WTF dude.. we all know that shit for like 50 years ago.

Samsung chipset is officially support DivX/XViD !!

Fuckn useless 4 mins of my life (Plus typing comment)

  • You are telling everyone you are an idiot over the internet. Codec support is on windows mobile system not on chip. DIVX are not supported on ACER F900 smartass, You must have seen other SAMSUNG phone model that are supporting DIVX/XVID codec like the i900 omnia which uses INTEL chip. even if the system is with the codec,it must have a faster processor to playback a high res video

50yrs ago divx aint out you moron

if you are reading this comment, i totally had the time of your useless life.

  • while the comparsion is to tell others what you spend you could have spend it on something better at lower price even

  • @buaydianway Okay, so we know this chip is great for Windows Mobile, but I have ALL SORTS OF LAG when on an android device with a 800mhz clock speed. do you know why?

  • @K9rosie

not snapdragon, snapdragon chip are SND8250, this is 7000 series

you will find snapdragon on HD2 , this is video for HD1

  • @JUST2AZN4U2 i care

  • who cares? both are taiwanese and you know that the Taiwanese make good stuff

screw Samsung and LG, they suck assss

  • nice l4d video, does the htc touch have the snapdragon processor?

  • the htc touch hd is very slow

  • What the best of touchscreen system - acer or htc -?? please tell meeeee..

  • fuck, i want see HD videos on my htc touch HD... is better omnia 2?

  • thats not the problem.

its the video render use on wmp! samsung chip is with MP4 decoder already so if the OEM added the driver for WMP to use to render, the video it will be playing using hardware decoding.

while TCPMP and CORE PLAYER did not add support for samsung chip for video driver so it will be lagging without hardware support.

F900 is clearly the winner for the chip Vs Qualcomm that HTC ALWAYS USE to earn more $ and build more lousy pda phones for people who dont understand.

  • it plays smooth on my acer F900 too. But if i play the same video with TCPMP or CorePlayer i get lag. The problem is: WMPlayer, wich works fine and smooth, does not support Xvid codec, so any xvid videos will be played lagged.
