One test does not fit all

The overuse and misuse of standardized testing is threatening BC's outstanding public education system. BC Teachers believe the province needs to put a moratorium on standardized tests and establish a task force with all education partner groups to develop a better system - a system that puts learners first.

Currently in BC, the proliferation of high stakes testing is forcing more and more teachers to teach to the test. That narrows the curriculum and takes other valuable learning opportunities away from students.
