Gambler and conman Jake Green (Jason Statham) always ran with a bad crowd and it cost him seven years in jail. After his release, Jake becomes unbeatable at the tables using a formula for the ultimate con that he learned from two mysterious prisoners. Now he is ready to take his revenge against Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta), the man responsible for his jail time.

  • the basic elements of the formula state that your opponent should not be able to accept (due to his ego) a game so big, and therefore if u play him within a familiar environment in which you can control, you will slowly be able to make him "hang himself". thus achieving the ultimate con.

  • This film really surprised me, I loved it so much.

  • @gjchgmdm It is still a possible checkmate if a white Rook is on the same row as the dark square bishop. Meaning, if the bishop does take the queen, it leaves the King vulnerable to the rook, hence a checkmate.

  • cheak my vid ^^

  • @KarasuNoGoh lol, agreed

  • 1 word: Poker

  • lol that wasn't checkmate. The dark square bishop is clearly sitting right there to take the queen. Unless of course it's pinned to the king. Very unlikely in that position though. Regardless great movie!

  • "You can only get smarter by playing a snake" Pretty sure there's some hidden meaning there.....

And then you also hold civil society and the political system hostage, since they too need... credit. And will not reform the 'dignified', 'responsible', banking con.

It's the story of the last 100 years, worldwide -- not just in so-called capitalist systems.

It can't be that old, it can't be that big...yet it is.

Debt against which the banks can, and do, claim payment in real wealth, labor, etc.

Another part of that whole game is the selective issuance of credit -- you're the financial district cartel, and you create virtual credit that you lend out to a select group of corporations, and front banks, so that these will, in turn, acquire real wealth (marketshare, etc) in exchange for that credit. All the while you selectively withold credit from competitors.
