Baldur's Gate Solo 8 Dragons

me managing and killing 8 evil aligned dragons all spawned with the "CreateCreature" commands. enjoy. complain, trash w/e.
Some have suggested this is a sort of brag/showpiece recently in emails, so to be clear this isn't it was just interesting and fun. Its worth noting that a good player i.e. not myself could do this quicker or with tactics mod on making dragons not suck.

Pause is for people with actual skills DrAz.

A smart player takes the advantages he can get. In all cases someone using pause will perform better than he would without pausing. If pausing increases your performance than how is it noobish?

@wraith342460 That character is not modded, or at least wouldn't have to be. Robe of Vecna, Amulet of Power, Staff of the Magi, Improved Alacrity, Chain Contingency, Abi Dahlzim's Horrid Wilting, Lower Resistance, Sunfire, Flame Arrow, Skull Trap, Mirror Image, Protection from Magical Weapons, Spell Immunity are just some of the weapons in the arsenal of a high leveled sorcerer, people need to stop accusing him of cheating, this is easily possible.

I just started the series and I don't see how Dragon Age is anything like Baldur's Gate!

I'm playing Baldurs Gate now for the first time and in my first battle I was killed by 2 wolf's right at the beginning.Man I feel like a bitch.I hope I learn how to pause in combat cause I need to learn how to play.

Very easy going song. I remember when my parents got me a twin pack of pc games long ago. Baldurs gate 2 or 3 which was a ten disc game.... played it and It was ok. I couldnt get into it at the time but now I enjoy the rpg.

that's why it's called strategy game... not slash and run... i'm disappointed with the way they made it into a console game... pause is necessary so you can determine where and how your party members can best defeat enemies... those people who commented about "not pausing"... they never played this game

Pausing is what made this game possible to be played to the full extent. Sometimes battles could be lost or won based on how your group was positioned. Goddamn i love this game.Believe its time to play it again.

@Tparadise626 Like I said with regards to Penguinmenace, I don't think the more intricate fights are possible without pause.

The only way you can physically play it without, is to send your fighters in and pray you do not get hit.

Otherwise, you have fighters just attacking which is fair enough. But you cannot have mages casting spells, clerics healing and buffing, rogues maneuvering to backstab and keeping everyone in flanking without pause.

As such, the game is less tactical without it.

@Penguinmenace I know your post is over a year old... But I have to ask.

Is this game even possible 'without' using the pause function? The combat is far too difficult and I agree, it is not 'noobish'.

It was a very well placed system to allow the freeflowing nature of computer games, with the turnbased nature of D&D.

Without pausing, tactics in the game would be impossible. You cannot micro manage 6 people at once in a 6 second interval :). No one is that good ^^.
