There are many wonderful fanfics about Kirk and Spock's break-up and their subsequent reunion during the V'ger incident. In those stories, Spock usually runs away to Gol because he doesn't think he's able to respond to Kirk's overflowing love without losing his inner balance. And well, if you ask me, that's a far more believable scenario than the one I created here: in this one, Kirk uncharacteristically put his ship (and some other ladies) before his relationship with Spock...

I do agree with your video discription, however, this POV doesn't seem very unlikely either. This song was very fitting, both to the video itself but also to Kirk and Spock in general. I think it was very well put together, and absolutely lovely <3

Actually, this vid does make sense as a possible contributor to their seperation. We all know that his ship and his work were the other great loves of Kirk's life. it makes sense to me that Kirk would alternately take Spock for granted and then overwhelm him with passionate attention. Kirk was that kinda guy, he works hard,he plays hard, he loves intensely. That's a lot to handle when you're a conflicted, sensitive soul like Spock. Thanks for inspiring me to go back and rewatch the movie!

Well, since you put it that way - it does sound quite plausible (and there's certainly loads of fic written also from that point of view)!
