The quality of the public debate in America has deteriorated, but thanks to the ready availability of statistical evidence the web browsing phones private debates are better than ever. When confronted with overwhelming evidence the last refuge of the hypocritical bigot is, "well both parties are bad". Why are people unable to change their mind about anything, it is as if being wrong is a personal failure rather than a learning experience?

I'm a leftist and I think the democrats SUCK. YOur notion that they have no responsibility in this financial crisis is partisan blindness. Clinton oversaw the deregulation that allowed the banks to go insane. He also signed NAFTA, which has increased the rate of destruction of the middle class- deepening the crisis again.
this is a bi-partisan mess, and by bi-partisan, I mean this resulted from the actions of our one-party corporate govt.

it makes me laugh people talking about how health care will take away liberty. how is it freedom to die in the streets or choose between your home or your life because you cant afford ridiculous prices for healthcare?
