In his first pop incarnation, Neil was never seen at the piano, he just stood and sang (and snapped his fingers) like Bobby Darin and others of the early 60's. But in his 2nd incarnation (circa 1975), he was a "piano man", much like his good friend Elton John and a then up-and-coming pop star named Billy Joel.
