you need to put your head almost all the way in the water, when i swim i have water going over my goggles. this helps bring your hips up and lets you do a proper rotation.

I always seem to panic when I go on my back, despite the fact that I can swim breast stroke/front crawl. I am going to utilize what this guy is advising...I carn't wait!
