Hey, i'm producing electronic music, and im wondering if a soundcard will make any difference in the sound quality? (Im not recording vocals or instruments, just working with plug-ins)
And if the answer is yes, what card should i go for?
Please respond! Thanks

Hey, I wanted your comment on the new M-audio Fast-track C400 and C600. I have the Presonus audio box but i want something a lil more higher end now. I know many say that the presonus has quite good mic pre-amps. How would you compare the C400 to the audiobox? I know for a fact that the sample rate on the C400 is 96khz which is quite better than the presonus. So which one would you suggest? Thank you :)

@kosmicmi i had the same problem the easiest thing is just record your midi tracks to audio it saves you so much cpu . What i do keep in mind its a pain in the ass but it works is i'll add effects individually instead of running a whole punch of effects at once and just re record until i have everything i want on it
its cheap but it works
I've been having problems with choppy playback from my DAW. I know it's because I have a lot of tracks and plugins running at the same time and I guess if I had a better computer I wouldn't have this problem. Changing the buffer size is not helpful because then I get a delay when recording. What I want to know is if my soundcard has anything to do with this? If I get a better one and plug it into the same computer, open the same project and listen back could it be that it would be less choppy?

@frugihoyi it is possible that it will assist yes. However, this is primarily effected by the CPU of your computer. It is certainly worth a try but a computer upgrade or bouncing some tracks to audio will most likely be more helpful.

I got Creative Xfi Titanium HD. It does have a decent DAC in it - would that work fine? I have plans on getting behringer B1/B2 mic with MIC200 preamp.

@HazakyProductions The creative stuff does perhaps have decent converters but we would always suggest going for an audio interface that is designed for audio production/ recording specifically, as it will generally perform better in the production/ recording environment. Having said that, what you suggest will work fine yes, provided the creative card has line inputs.

Do u didn't talk about apoggee enusambal
Is it got sound card
ali460 4 weeks ago
@ali460 The Apogee Ensemble is a great card yes. However, for some reason, it hasn't been a huge seller for us and we didn't have stock at the time when we shot the video. It is a great interface though.
