  • A short back, excellent feet, and dense, strong bone is another trait of the Arabian, as is the natural elevation in the movement, but a lot of these are ignored in favour of the head...many of the top stallions have club feed and long bodies these are not breed standard. The head is not the most important characteristic by a long shot...as the Arab people say "You cannot ride the head". It should certainly not be number one concern.

  • Thats why I prefer Senor Magnum and Enzo, they look like they could do something and breed foals that are actually useful. The legs and back of the Magnum line just tend to be hideous, all Midwest cares about are those seahorse faces and necks.

  • @horsejumpa101 yes it is

  • @RattySoup -

I must agree with you on Magnum Psyche, I personally would be scared to ride him, I'd be afraid his back might just snap. And on the steam-roller issue, that is mostly prevalent in American breeding, many of the Egyptian/Polish/Spanish horses still hold true to the original values. Look, for example, at Gazal al Shaqab or Monogramm.

  • @horsejumpa101 Well, I think that yes, head and neck is important, but you don't want the rest of the horse to go to waste. Focusing too much on one particular area will result in bad things in the others.

  • The halter class is supposed to consist of beautiful representations of the breed...in all other classes that involves taking the conformation of the horse into the highest degree. Arabs should be no different.

  • Ok I do highly agree with you on that! And no the head should not be the only ,but for halter classes it might need to be.

  • I think they should be focused on their heads and necks. It's just one of the Arabian traits! But I also agree with you that they should not only focus on those two features.

  • Isn't this horse Sired by Magnum Psyche?

  • Isn't Da Vinci a Senor Magnum son? I'm not keen on Valentino or Maranello for reasons already stated.
