Pakistan reacts to emergency rule - 4 Oct 07

Pakistan's prime Minister has confirmed up to 500 people have been arrested across the country, in a crackdown which began after the President declared a state of emergency.

Speaking at a media conference during the past hour, the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said the elections, which has been scheduled for January, could be delayed for up to a year.

But he added that the government hasn't yet made any decision.

President Musharraf says the move follows what he calls 'rising Islamic extremism'.

Political, financial & social instability is being enforced in Pakistan since the day it came into being, resulting in constant devaluation of currency, fake inflation, unemployment, poverty, lawlessness & injustice to disable Pakistan from standing on its feet. National wealth is being thrown out at fast pace to the Western Countries which survive on it & later on loan back the same wealth on inhumane conditions and mark up rate to disable Pakistan in all aspects of life which is totally unfair
