  • This song evokes within me an inexplicable feeling of morbid nostalgia. There is something otherwordly about it - in terms of mood, it reminds me of Jeff Buckley's Mojo pin.

"On another note, does anybody have a tab for X

Thank you for your thoughts! I get very happy realizing young people like Frank+s´lyrics. - He was such a good a singer/songwriter! Nowadays he´s getting his credits - not a day too soon!

  • i like more nick drakes version, cause the way he plays his guitar is nicer, and it sounds more old.

  • @cheatdestiny thats the trouble with nostalgia,, its not what it used to be,ha ha

but yeh i agree, also nicks version of don't think twice is the same ,soz dylan extremists lol

  • I can't find the words to say how much this song makes you want to achieve something beautiful, the guitar sounds so everlasting, as if it were carried away on a road.

  • You could also add Bill Fay and Duncan Browne to the list of artists with a stylistic kinship to Nick Drake.

  • both interpretations are awesome in their own way...drakes is peaceful yet haunting and has a timeless quality to it, and franck's simmers with emotion, you can almost feel the pain and yearning in his voice...Drakes guitar playing edges it for me though...Wow!!!

  • He plays guitar and sings beautifully.

  • What a haunting version.

  • Ever heard songs of Jeff Buckleys father Tim Buckley? Also comparable to Nick Drake.

  • hi rigomrtz, it's Tanworth-in-Arden actually. When i flew to England four years ago I first landed in Tamworth, just to find out that it was the wrong place!

I tried to explain this feeling to someone recently, but I couldn't quite translate it properly. It's nice to know that others share this feeling when listening to Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley (etc.)...it's such a strange nostalgia. It can be quite beautiful.
