Probably the most blatent and successful "theft" of a recording in modern memory. Not only was this record NOT on the movie souftrack, it was by a completely different artist. Liberty "stole" not only the song, but the arrangement, and even the artists NAME. The original British soundtrack recording was by Garry MILLS on Imperial, while this one was by Garry MILES on Liberty (in reality Buzz Cason). The two records were so alike, only the horns on the bridge on the original tells them apart. I'm guessing the only thing preventing a lawsuit was Liberty and Imperial being owned by the same corporation. This version was the most successful, followed by Billy Vaughn, Garry Mills, and Deane Hawley.
also the british version by Gary Mills is much better
