  • it wasnt that bad, anyone who can memorize this whole monolouge is very smart and has guts to play this part

  • You are being way too harsh and dramatic. Sure it could perhaps use more work, but is it as bad as you say...NO.

  • Umm, wow. I thought he was actually doing a decent job keeping things level and simple, but the whole thing literally collapses in the last 30 seconds in a really bizarre, stunningly odd fit of false overacting that ruins his hitherto solid pacing. But hey, a bad performance happens to the best of us. Hopefully this isn't indicative of his overall work.

  • @Nf9456 I AGREE. He ruined this amazing monologue

  • Oh my god. this is such a bad production that i can't watch a single scene without needing to comment. he is a horrible actor. he lacks a clear goal, he doesn't use much variation in his voice, he starts yelling and getting angry at the end which is very out of context, and he is completely faking it. i did not believe this monologue for one second. such an awful production, i can't even believe it.

  • Oh my GOD people! Stop being so awful to this guy! It's called CONTRUCTIVE criticism for gods sake, you do it if you think you know better!

Kudos for even remembering it all :-) ignore them, keep going, you'll get there. I thought you were pretty good :-)

  • The first time I saw this show I was 17, just graduated high school and sitting next to my homophobic mom...I teared up when his Dad said "take care of my son". My Dad had been dead 3 years at that point. Sammy Williams, the Original Paul, won a Tony for this role.

  • i don't like his acting. he isn't very good. he just spits out the lines with no meaning to them. it's just memorization.

  • The whole meaning, the very core, of this monologue is about the acceptance of Paul's choices by his parents. Doesn't this promote equality?

So...why are all these people criticising his acting and telling him every little thing he did wrong?!? Why don't you take a little bit of acceptance yourself and leave the guy alone! If you don't like his interpretation of the piece, then go act it yourself!

At least don't bring other people down because they're not perfect, because no one is!

  • boo this guy sucked.

  • I think the interpretation of this was wrong after the second half... you did great during the interview with Zach at the Beginning. A little off on the molestation part... and the no should be somewhat bigger. Your transition was too quick, this is the first time Paul has opened up about his past and he wouldn't rush through all of it... It's not No! Okay!. And please don't ruin the moment at the end which is beautiful when Paul talks about his parents... you made him sound angry which he wasnt

  • I saw it tonight and met Joey who played Paul... He was really sweet. I cried when Paul did this Monologue. I cried like a baby.
