I'm a Christian, and I love Psyclon Nine. And I'm the type of Christian that is very "open-minded". I don't force opinions down anyone's throats and I'm friends with a few Atheist friends. Hell, I even converse and share philosophies on not just religion but worldly matters such as corruption, but I never reject his statements or his thoughts on things. Of course I dont change my views, I only broaden my horizon of thoughts to find myself more open to other opinions.

The withered thorns that caress my tainted flesh
(jesuses head in that thorny crown)
The shattered halo that shattered all our dreams
(the hopes of happyness after death promised by christianity if followed, jesus was a lie)
We've been condemned by the pages of false hope
(masses of belevers, living by the bible and belefes of false hope, brainwashed)
We've been caressed by each others' lives in death
(beleve as others do and you will be "happy" but its all chancing your sanity)
there you go.

if you were to Take INRI as a concept album, then surly Harlot would be about Christ and Mary Magdalen, the bloodstaind sheets either being his birth or Death robes

"10 000 lovers of God's forgotten child"... It's the word "forgotten". I think it may refer to how Christians always talk about how "God loves everybody" but actually discriminate everyone not fitting into their ideology. They despise people like hookers, think of themselves as better, but still keep on talking about equality and that God loves all of his "children" the same way.

Lets go with that XD
Does anyone know the actual meaning of this song? I've always suspected it's about killing a hooker but I never really looked too far into it.

"Shattered halo that shattered our dreams," "Condemned by pages of false hope," "Not saved alone but together we are exiled" ... I'm willing to bet it's another song about Christianity.
Add in the fact it's on "INRI" ... eh.

Well, harlot is an old term for hooker and a tryst is a romantic term. "Blood stained sheets" possibly hinting to the killing. *shrugs* I suppose it could be religious as well. I figured I'd just strike up a conversation with whoever decided to post on here. Maybes he's talking about killing a hooker and how he's against Christianity?

Well, I could see how your point of view would be very possible. Never know - I mean, INRI does seem like a concept album, and prostitution is a very "sinful" occupation and obviously frowned upon for being so. Maybe the lyrics are just conveying a subject that ties into the overall concept of the album, and prostitution is a very obvious subject for a tie-in. :)
