What is forgiveness?

I haven't been around in a long time and no clue if you still are. I am going through my messages. There is a difference between forgiving and trusting. Forgiving is when you no longer want to hold on to the pain and want to start your healing. Trust is what is gained based on their actions. My problem is forgiving someone for doing something they don't know/realize/believe/remember they did even though forgiving is about yourself and your healing process.

when I say I'm sorry!

Yeah it would make it harder to forgive that person.

Is this a real situation?
Everyone is different, of course, but there are two elements one has to balance:
a)Resentment rots your insides, so it's good to let go of it if you can.
b)Intice, cruelty, etc. should not be tolerated and people who refuse to stop hurting you should be excluded from your life, if possible.

well what if the person hurts shows no remorse.
Forgiveness means that no matter what that person does to you or says that you should forgvie them. But the thing is, is if they hurt you you'll never forget!

I am working on forgiving some one who is not in my life anymore. I think that makes it harder.

I pray you start forgiving yourself. Start looking inward to understand yourself. Seek out the person within you. I know this situation was never what you feared would happen. Never thought it myself. You know that I love you, and that no one is allowed to hurt you in my presence (unless you let them)..... Your a great mother, a great daughter and a great sister......even if your a hard head sometimes.
Forgive yourself first.
