  • @ajcrw Theoretically yes, but (for example) try using 80% power with a Vr of 125kts and see how poor your climb rate would be for obstacle clearing until power is added. But if you use inertia with a high speed takeoff, you are in front of the power curve therefor using low power with high speeds would work. I will agree to an extent that the V speeds will be the same but with low power, you have to be able to clear obstacles and etc. If this makes any sense. That's how we do it with our 737's

  • @blakman7 V speeds should be the same regardless of thrust. the De rate will just give you a longer roll.

  • That particular runway is 12,000ft long if I am not mistaking so with using a low powered takeoff, the takeoff speed is higher thus resulting in a very late rotation. If that makes any sense. I can explain further if you want, just send me a message. Happy flying!
