On Uncommon Knowledge this week, Peter Robinson interviews author and historian Victor Davis Hanson. They discuss the American style of war and it's weakness in Iraq and how Bush should have handled the anti-war opposition differently. They go on to talk about the lessons VDH learned from his dad about the reality of war, why Pres. Obama gets away with the Bush war strategy, and the ultimate importance of understanding military history and human sacrifice.

Simpler still is the supportable thesis that there is little differences in foreign policies between two seemingly opposite political minds because all foreign policy is driven by a 'secret, shadow government'. It would be refreshing to capture the brilliance of Dr. Hanson's mind and let him focus on the subject of the military-industrial complex. Better yet put together a panel: Dr. Hanson, Dr. Paul LaViolette, phD-physics, Henry Kissinger, and Dick Cheney.

A more simple explanation as to why Mr. Obama can "get away with continuing Bush's war policy" is thta the vast majority of his voter base is comprised of the dregs of society - the dumbest people our nation has ever witnessed, and that is a statistical fact.
According to Obama, "Afghanistan was the beginning and end ofthe war on terror, yet he spends his lunches sending covert drones into Pakistan...and his minions stay silent.

I notice a lot of these conversations are too focused on little specific time frames and choices, without actually looking at what human mindsets cause these wars to happen to begin with.
"You have a moral obligation to acknowledge the ultimate sacrifice of thousands of Americans."
This is bullshit and fuzzy noise. It ignores what causes the war to begin with and praises people for blinding marching off to mow each other down in the name of states and religions.
