Inside the Transition: Service

The Transition's Service Team is hard at work finding new ways for people to participate in getting our country back on track. With Martin Luther King Jr. Day -- traditionally a national Day of Service -- right around the corner, we went inside the Transition so you could get to know a few members of the Service Team (officially called the Innovation and Civil Society subgroup of the Technology, Innovation and Government Reform policy working group) and see how they're approaching these issues.

he's doing weekly web-address, which is kind of how FDR took the new technology of the radio, and used it to his advantage to get people together. Obama is just using the internet which more and more people have access to, to get a more broad range of people listening, so that they all know what he wishes us to do.

Make more days of service, for example as we have Make a Difference Day and MLK day of service we should be trying to create more days, also try to get college students involved from the start. Also, make people realize helping their communities does help them.

well you can give a day of service now. Why wait for obama to tell you to. A forced day for people to have to work is not going to fly. By law, the government cant force anyone to do anything they dont want to. That pesky Constitution will get in the way of it.
