  • the marseillaise is a wonderful song, but "die wacht am rhein" is even more beautiful

  • Madeleine LeBeau, the character that we see vibrating while she sings, and her husband Marcel Dalio, also an actor in the film, were both saved by the Portuguese consul Aristides Sousa Mendes during the war. One can see the shout of freedom that is real and not performed. As long as freedom is celebrated and honored in such ways, the world will be something great. The world will aways welcome greatness, as time goes by.

    I wholeheartedly agree.

  • No matter how many times I see this I get goosebumps.

  • Cena antológica...

  • Best move scene ever.

  • they need a whole series of people dubbing over national anthems over this video--like the Mexican anthem being sung over by the fed up Americans (representing the conflict between politically correct "take back America" border crossers and the fed up Americans/Arizonans/Texans/etc.)

  • the inspiring part is that every version of this posted on youtube is posted by someone not from the US
