it's really sad but apparently there's gonna be rebuilt some stuff on the island, however - if the project will be realized.
the documentary mentions that the island was given back to the turks by the austrians, then populated and developed as touristic POI. With the construction of the hidroelectric central (known as Steelgates), the historical objects were transferred to another island. This movie was made to conserve the knowledge and some images of how it used to be...

thank you for this documentary.. it makes me sad this island had to disapear.. such an inportant part of balkans history!
Since I don't undesrand a word in romanescu, does it mention the janissary ocupation of the island? or the tunnels that connected it to mainland?
