  • @PinuyashaRPG not true. My trainer is very lean and he is not a heavy body builder,. He is 5'11 and weighs 200 lbs. He is considered obese by BMI. He does lift weights, but nothing like you are saying. BMI is not accurate because people have different builds too.

  • @DemonAMVs i agree that BMI is not accurate. I am 5'11 and it says I need to weigh no more than 175 lbs. Thats just ridiculous. I am pretty fat because Im 230 lbs, but my BF was measured now at 25%. So I definitely dont need to be 175 lbs. I have very muscular legs. I should weigh about 200 lbs and I would really not be obese!

  • @PinuyashaRPG the BMI is innacurate for everyone not just fit people.

  • @DemonAMVs It's inaccurate if you work out a lot. The average American doesn't. Doctors aren't trying to come up with methods to judge athletes and muscular people, so they're not factoring them in. They're not a part of the issue, only the average American. That's why USDA standards make dietary guidelines for the average American, not athletes. They're worried about the 90%, not the 10%.

  • @PinuyashaRPG The BMI is innacurate and just a bad tool, yes there is an obesity problem but using the BMI is going to make it sound 10x as bad as it really is.

  • @DemonAMVs BMI is only pointless if you lift heavy weights 3-4 times a week. Not some stupid balance ball bullshit or P90X. I'm talking 200lbs on the squat rack, 150lbs on the bench, and more. For the rest of average Americans who sit on their ass and do nothing, BMI shows they're clearly just fat.

  • We are a spoiled nation, we have access to whatever we want, when we want, with little to no work involved, and i to am in this obese category. I recognize that i have ruined my life, and i dont blame anyone but myself, and any obese person who blames others for it, they need to take responsibility for their actions.

  • @yourtreat2 last one's not really gonna solve much.

  • Restraints should have scales, and refuse to serve fat people.

Supermarkets should calculate calories and not permit people tipping the scales to purchase foods that can result in rapid weight gain, or exceed a certain # of calories.

Far people on Food Stamps should have their rations cut by 1/2.

Fat people should be ineligible for Medicare, or Medicaid if they remain obese for more than 2 years..

fat people should be forced to smoke (to increase their metabolism).

  • @Xxsucram89xX Yes but the use it on an individual then that person is classified as obese.
