@ClassicalMartin i agree i've seen other videos and he does the same thing he gets to conclusion that are most convenient to him. i don't want to say that he is wrong or wright but i can say something is not honest about him because the way of judgment or manipulation!
People go to kidney dialisys not because of the bad soy protein but because of too much protein!!!! This so called Doctor misleads the audience in that respect and may be at all. That's why I voted with thumb down for this video! The information is not true nor accurate.
What about Jeff's Best Hemp! Finest Grind Hemp Protein? There's tons of awesome stuff in there, and it has a higher digestibility ratio and it's loaded with primary minerals and healthy fats, and it's equal in protein to this supplement he's suggesting. Plus, I don't know a single person who ever too pea protein that said it didn't give them gnarly gas. no joke.
@binyamj i think you're right in that rice protein is slow digesting, but i don't see how that could be harmful and instead could be good and easier for your kidney to not have to process so much protein at once. Also, I think ANY kind of protein in excess is bad, so even consuming large amounts of sun warrior could harm you. But I personally would prefer Sun Warrior over whey.
@binyamj I see what you're saying, but Brian Clement is advocating a raw foods diet, not vegan. If a vegan eats processed/fried foods he's going to be unhealthy, just like if a meat eater eats processed foods. I did some more research just now and I found some cases where whey protein is damaging (didn't bother to research soy because I don't think it's damaging).. i'll message them to you.
@SphereMaster001 I'm a bodybuilding fan and I know of two that have had kidney issues, Flex Wheeler and Troy Alves, but neither were because of protein. Even though they make the sun warrior protein sound "pure" and healthy. It's more than double the cost of whey, with less protein per serving. Based off of brown rice, it must be slow digesting, whey is fast digesting. Which means sun warrior isn't meant for pre/post workout. It's really comparable to casein protein, but still more expensive.
@SphereMaster001 That's not what he said though. He said that he knows of many bodybuilders that have had kidney damage solely from whey protein. I've also never seen a healthy looking vegan, and a lot of the food that is vegan is deep fried/processed. Also vegetarians miss out on many nutrients and eat more saturated fat and calories than most, because all they are eating are carbs and starches. So obviously there are going to be "side-effects" with any diet.
@binyamj actually excess of animal protein (from whey) can cause kidney damage, eg. too much calcium deposition in kidney causing kidney stones, so that is a real danger
@UndercoverJ7 I use good qualitty hemp protein powder in clinic regularly and geat great results.
