Very interesting record,
Could you please explain the composition of the material of the record.
Is it shellac??
Thankyou for great vids

Wow, wow, wow! Never heard of this soprano before. Until I read something about her in a story about Tetrazzini.
This woman is just amazing in every way. Her runs (especially chromatic) are not to be believed.
Also she sounds so good if one looks at the year of the recording 192, she does not sound like Tetrazzini or Melba (so very historic). Her voice has a more mordern approach. More supple sound, with a relaxed vibrato...More like Lilly Pons.

V-e-r-y nice... and reproduced very nicely! Her too few discs don't seem to turn up often, so many thanks for this!

Sounds great! Love those brick red Vocalions!!

Scotney is always a delight to the ear. Her performance of the aria takes it place alongside the brilliant recordings by Tetrazzini, Galli-Curci, Abendroth, and Pons.

Thank you Meltzerboy, I agree entirely. Unfortunately this wonderful performer is so under appreciated and all but forgotten today. My 3 Youtube entries appear to be the only ones of her available for listening. How sad.

Yes, you just don't find those early 20's Vocalions Operas very often, I found these Scotney selections a few years ago, in fantastic condition still in their original Vocalion 12" Album.
