My cover of "Remains" by Maurissa Tancharoen & Jed Whedon, that I did in one take. So if I missed something, sorry.
"Remains" aired in the ill fated Joss Whedon show "Dollhouse." And has been in the back of my mind for awhile. I loved the song, loved the music video for it, and am a fan of all things Joss Whedon :)
Here's a link to the original music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNtORr6RsJ4
My guitar is tuned down to C (normally guitars are tuned to E) that's why it's rattling a bit. I'm a fan of chord melodies so I basically just played the chords for the song adding some color here and there by fingerpicking.

Equipment:
Yamaha LS6 w/ L.R. Baggs M1A & JJB Electronics "The Prestige" (blended about 50/50)
Samson G Track mic
topped off with some "warm hall" reverb to make it sound like the original version.

  • this is amazing!!!!!! :)

  • @sjhobson1 Thank you! I wish I had the effect pedals or an amp with this reverb setting, so I could play it more often.

  • nice...is this unplugged?

  • @dongloy thanks! no it's not unplugged. I have two pickups in this guitar that I blend about 50/50, and then I also recorded it with a mic at the same time. So you're hearing three separate audio tracks blended together and then topped off with "Warm Hall" reverb.

  • love this, nice work!

  • @rpoland holy crap! Thank you!

  • Great ! Nice .

  • Morgan, your guitar version of this composition is true to the original's very strong nature, and I think you absolutely nailed it. I enjoy all of your videos, and think you're just great! Keep it up, for those of us who watch for your postings!

  • Very nice cover. Tried to sing along to it. A little fast, but gives it more energy. Also i have to add a beat on the first note so i don't come in too early. That makes it fun. =) Like trying to trip on purpose and still catch a falling juggling pin.

  • @Kudama6 LOL ! what the hell ^^ I think I had lags, maybe ?
