@TheTater1984 I caught mine during a sale from Gallery of Guns dot com (aka Gun Genie) for around $150. I just checked their site and it looks like they still have it listed, but it's on stock watch right now... Oh, and yes that's Elk Neck Shooting Range in some of the outdoor footage :)
-
@sintax77 ahh i see you live near me by the shooting range :)
-
Damn it.. Looks like I need a new toy.. I love this pistol
-
@3023301 did you find out where to buy the 22 mag cyliner? im interested as well
-
@jassoe oh, right, of course.
-
@SpiroHrvoje1989 Good point. I've heard that suggested before, but I've always just had the caps laying around so haven't tried. P.S. Glad you enjoyed the video. ...I think I can hear another wife adding me to their hit-list.

Its Pietta not piatta. pilatta.
-
Oh and I guess if you felt like dry-firing but didn't have snap caps, theoretically you could just engage the safety then start dry-firing?
-
congratulations, this superbly informative and edited video has guided my next firearms purchase

Thank you for the video. I'm thinking of buying another 22 revolver- wanted one with fixed sights. Planned to get another Ruger. But, for the price, and after seeing your video, I think I'll get the Puma. BTW, I keep loaded cylinders for my Ruger Single Six sitting on a shelf where I can grab one and stick in the gun when I'm taking it outside to kill an armadillo or possum. I'm hoping Ruger will produce their Single-Ten with fixed sights one day. And yes, I've already emailed them about it.

does anyone know where i can get the 22 mag cylinder for this gun?
-
@coralikespenguins I guess the empties may have a bit of resistance to them, but not enough that I've thought much about it compared to a center fire. Speaking of that though, unlike a center fire, the UN-fired shells won't simply drop free like they do with center fire SAA's. You'll have to get used to ejecting those, but I think it's common with most SA's in 22lr.
Regarding the rivets; Those are just the pin-like bits of metal that hold the gun together (look like little dots in the vid)
-
isn't it sort of hard to eject the empties--because of the small 22 caliber chambers? What rivets?
-
@sintax77 Thanks for the info. I'm looking for one now.

@satorres82 I'm super happy with this gun and don't have any regrets about picking it up. Sure, if I put it side by side with my Ruger New Vaquero, there's going to be some obvious differences in finish and "solidness", but for $150 I'm not even going to attempt to complain. No problems so far, and yes, I quite like the trigger.
-
I'm thinking of purchasing this gun to save cost on ammo. Any problems with it? How is the quality? Decent trigger? Appreciate your time, and great video.
-
@hoppinglark Yeah, that's half the reason i made the vid. I remember when I was trying to decide on buying the gun, and there wasn't much out there. Hope it helped a little.
-
Thanks for the vid, this is the only review I've found so far.

@sintax77
Have you had any problems with yours?
I've heard some people who bought it under the Cimarron Plinkerton name have had the ejector rod break.

@hoppinglark No issues so far. Hadn't heard of the Plinkeraton before, although according to the Chiappa website, it is distributed by them just as the Puma is.

is this gun accurate
Dukebd03 1 month ago
@Dukebd03 From my perspective it is. It may depend on your definition of accurate though. Physically it's probably just as accurate as many of my guns. I think when most people say accurate they actually mean something that could be better called "shoot-ability". In that case I would still say yes, it's very close to my 357 Ruger New Vaquero in terms of putting holes in paper. That being said, ALL colt SAA clones are going to be more challenging to shoot due to the notch and groove style sights
