Black Powder golf ball cannon

Home made golf ball cannon. Total cost was under $100.00. I am useing 1oz FF Black powder. The bore size is 1.72'' which is 1/32 larger than a golf ball. The barrel length is 12'' and the barrel wall thickness is 1 1/4 ". The welding process used is Arc and took about one hour to make. Golf ball traveled 850 yards on 1oz FF powder. I have plans for a three foot cannon for next year. Also a bowling ball cannon. Will add videos when these projects are done. Enjoy!

Mine uses PYRODEX- I also added a "pullstring".. It uses the Blackpoweder Primer and Nipple attached to a cable "string". Cock it back after loading0 add the primer. Release the safety( I MADE) When im ready I PULL- KABOOMM ! I use #10 Primer.

What I did was went to a store called Metal Supermarket and took a golf ball with me and found a pipe that had atleast a 1 1/4 inch wall thickness and would accept a golf ball. I then found a piece of round stock that was three inches larger than the pipe and cut a two inch section of that to weld on the end but before that I found a 1 inch piece of small round stock that tightly fit in the barrel. then welded that plug in. Ground it flat and then welded the end cap on with about 15 passes.
