The spreader beam, designed and manufactured by Australian Diversified Engineering (ADE), for lifting the rear end of Caterpillar 777, 785, 789 and 793 Off-Highway trucks.
The design includes the following key functions:
• The spreader beam is used for lifting the chassis during machine assembly (including rear tyre installation) and maintenance practices where the rear end of the chassis is required to be raised.
• It attaches to the truck chassis' at their body pivot points.
• It provides remote controlled insertion and retraction of the pins at the chassis to spreader beam connection (pneumatic cylinders). This important feature removes the requirement for a service person to manually remove and install the chassis pins (working at heights issue).
• All manually handled parts have been designed so that their weight is not excessive and are easily accessible without risk of the operator being trapped or crushed so that injuries are avoided.
• Designed in accordance with AS4991-2004 - Lifting Devices and its referenced standards.
