1. It's a question of ratios. It's no different than in the US where not every vote is exactly equal. That's what you get in a federation.
2. Good. If there had been a referendum then, like all referenda people would have voted against things that the referendum was not actually about.
3. But 90% have no understanding of the E.U. so their opinion is suspect.

In belgium the laws are such that you are forced to vote. If not you pay a fine... For me voting is a right but nothing should force us to vote especially for corrupts fucks like DiRupo or Leterme assholes... Belgium really sucks

1.The EU ELECTIONS are not democratic : In a real democracy every vote has the same weight.
38,000 votes are needed in Luxemburg to chose an MEP. Thats 16 times more political clout than a German voter where 628,000 are needed !
2.Europeans were never asked if they wanted an EU parliament & an un-elected legislative.
3.Most Europeans (in recent polls) do NOT WANT the EU to be given more power.
4.Why plan for a European army unless the EU is to become an `Empire ´(Barrosso).

Surely the Lisbon Treaty/Constitution is in clear breach of the UN's International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ?.
Article 1 : All peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic and cultural development.
Note the word `FREELY ´!
The only legal means of asking a peoples approval is a referendum.
Anything else is an illegal coup `d etat.
Vote EU sceptic.
