An Uncharted 1958 recording that I recieved a request for. It's a bouncy
number that's should have gotten more attention than it did. But then in 1958
Frankie couldn't buy a hit.

I'm always surprised as to what songs people have such fond memories about. It seems isn't hardly ever the big hit's but the little gems that didn't get much play when they were new. There comes a time in your life when your most priced possession is your memories.

I agree. As one who appreciates good music, I couldn't really care less if a song is a hit or not...as long as it pleases my ears. My ears don't recognize a hit or a non-hit, what they recognize is a a good tune, period. You hit it right between the eyes too when you wrote about memories because indeed our memories of a particular moment, whether pleasant or not, have a direct correlation to the song/s playing at that particular moment.

You so right, the value of a song isn't were it reached on a chart, but where it touched you personally. That's why people that only bought LP's or CD's missed out on a lot of good music.

This is the type of songs Frankie was putting out in the late fifties. It was good for what it was but it wasn't a "Jezebel" .
