I don't think this baby was handled roughly; it is the nurse’s job to perform an APGAR test, in the first minute of delivery, then in another 5 minutes, for a neurological assessment. Have you ever taken any psychology or child development courses in college? Then you would know that baby's require a degree of stimulation to make sure everything is working as it should immediately after birth...

Dunno how accurate it is but I just read that it can be normal for a baby not to cry - they cry because they are born into a harsh environment (bright lights etc.) and handled roughly

@gollapr probably. Doesn't do a darned thing to removed blockages in the mouth or nose

Didn't doctors spank babies to get them to cry? They'd flip them upside down, hold them by the ankles and smack the baby to get the baby to cry. I'm sure that's completely outdated.

My daughter wouldn't cry. Completely healthy she just was quiet she never really cried as a baby. she is 2 years old now and doesn't stop talking and throwing tantrums lol

My heart would have sank if my nurse was acting so panicky, I would have freaked out.
keep on watching over me I still do admire you because I knew you was one of a kind. I know for sure I have a guardian angel aka my therapy aka fat boy, aka kai-kai aka my twin keep mommy firm ok son. I will be good concentrate on mommy and happy B-Day from dada with a teary eye right now of joy and sorrow because I miss you physically but your presence is lingering around me I Cherish then and now.
