Darwin Hill, of the Six Nations Confederacy, is among the Indian leaders meeting with government officials from 29 countries in the Americas this week in Washington, D.C. Leaders are seeking a stronger legal framework to protect indigenous rights.
The Organization of American States is hosting the meeting -- Nov. 30 - Dec. 2 -- to build consensus on an American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
