www.compassindy.com In this video Katie from Compass Chiropractic in Indianapolis discusses Lateral Epicondylitis more commonly known as Tennis Elbow. Katie uses the Theraband Flex-Bar to train eccentric muscle contraction which has been shown in studies to decrease pain and increase function associated with Lateral Epicondylitis (elbow pain)

This exercise is based on a study, google "Tennis Elbow Eases With Eccentric-Twist-of- Wrist Exercise"
to answer your question, the INVOLVED arm should be at the BASE
"
For the investigational exercise, patients were given a Thera-Band FlexBar to twist with the wrist of their uninjured arm and then slowly untwist with eccentric wrist extension of the injured arm over a period of about four seconds. Three sets of 15 repetitions were scheduled each day.

I am slightly confused by this video. I recently bougt the Felxbar because of "Tennis Elbow" in my right arm. I am a sign language Interpreter and this is the #1 repetative motion injury we suffer from.
Katie - you say to hold the flex bar, thumb up with the injured (involved) arm. The instruction manual that came with the flex bar says exactly the oppisite - to hold the NON-involved arm thumb up at the base of the bar.
Can you clarify? Please...
Thank you
