jews = um, not so good

  • Doug the Drama Queen: Government does not shut down competely.

  • Yeah kaj, I'd love Reaganomics. 20+ MILLION jobs created during his presidency. (Hint: not all rich people!) There is a real fact, you dunce. Another, more current: 98% of taxes are paid by the richest 50%.

Your fact is that you claim rich people pay lawyers millions of dollars to loophole their way around the law. That doesnt even deserve a response.

You still havent justified taxing the rich more. Saying you envy their success, ingenuity, or hardwork doesnt grant you a moral imperative.

  • My original comment was about Mr. Campbell voting against raising the debt limit. If the debt limit is exceeded, the govt shuts down. Perhaps you should go back and read that. It was actually a very confined comment. Doug is also my real name.

  • @DougBD Is this Barack? Your choice of words... such compelling... antagonizing rhetoric. But you know, I didn't vote for you, so you have to actually say something for me to take you seriously. I will not chase your rhetorical bones, Mr. President. I will not be overwhelmed into making history for you, either. Nobody is saying to shut down the government. Your presumption is not proof of anything, and perhaps, YOU'RE an extremist, judging by your option deficit.

  • Voting against raising the debt limit is one of two things: a) political theater, or b) a real attempt to shut down the government.

We need real solutions and real leaders. Mr. Campbell is whistling in the wind. Work to build consensus and solutions. Not grandstand.

Raising the debt limit does not solve the problem. Shutting down the government does not solve the problem. If you think that "shutting down the govt" is the solution, then you are a right wing jerk. We really need adults.

  • @DougBD Please, reread your comment and ask yourself if you are not a hypocrite. I'm not saying your comment is hypocritical, but that you, yourself, are a hypocrite based on what you wrote. Please, enough of the rhetoric.

The closest you got to saying something was the bit about leadership and the debt limit; where leadership is apparently raising the debt limit (?). How profound. Problem solved. Spend more.

Where is your argument, Mr. pragmatist?

  • Right we have a progressive tax system that the rich pay much more, you lie like a rug. Rich people pay lawyers millions and millions of dollars to loophole their way around the law. this is a fact. Do you know how much the IRS is trying to collect right now?

Offshore bank accounts, swiss accounts shell corporations and so on.......Confiscation of property, nice work mda, get real. save the tyranny quotes for Mark Levine.

Bring back Reaganomics for the rich and corporations-YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH

  • And, kajes5, it is interesting you have nothing substantive or intelligent about the logical budget included in the Roadmap plan Congressman Ryan proposed that Congressman Campbell references. That is an alternative to the unsustainable budget the President proposed, and Mr. Orszag admits that it would help solve the budget crisis. You are caught in the past blaming Bush. Get used to it: W is gone, and we have problems to solve. Swearing does not advance your lack of a plan.

  • WE ALREADY HAVE A PROGRESSIVE TAX SYSTEM IN WHICH "THE RICH" PAY A HUGE MAJORITY OF THE TAXES.

Your hatred of the rich for the problems of the country is a baseless, factless accusation. For the record, the tax rate on someone that makes 600 million dollars pays much more than 33%, but WHO ARE YOU TO ALLOW THE CONFISCATION OF THE FRUITS OF HIS LABOR. That is an essential tenent of tyranny: confiscation of property without just cause. Freedom in this country includes the right to property.
