A preview of an exhibition at Forum Gallery, located at 745 Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Linden Frederick is a full-time painter, originally from upstate New York, who now lives and works in Belfast, Maine. His work tends to depict nondescript homes as well as places such as shopping centers and forlorn industrial landscapes, which he explores with light, value, and color.
His paintings reflect everyday places of a mobile society, places where people live and work.
Mr. Frederick has been working on this show for two years. An avid cyclist, he covers approximately 100 miles per week and uses that mode of transportation to seek out subjects that appeal to him for paintings.
Included in the exhibition are scenes from Americana he discovered while on a nine-week cross-country bicycle trip.
This video includes a selection of paintings that are included in the exhibiton, as well as an interview with the artist at his Belfast, Maine studio.
All of the paintings are oil on panel, 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches.
Thank you for bringing us along to new and interesting places. Let me know when and where your next show is. I'll try to go.
