Opens with male yellow shafted flicker making its call. Then I filmed the female (female doesn't have the black mustache that the male has). I never saw this female before. Two male regulars (to my feeder) seemed to be worried about her or in love with her. She looks a bit tired, or possibly sick. She looks old and wise. The males seemed to be helping her find my suet feeder. She ate and I never saw her again.

  • I love the "Flickers" I can't help but sing that song in my head...."They call him Flicker, Flicker, faster than lightening... you know the song for the horse. Anyway your Flickers are fatter and cuter than mine. haha. Good video thanks Seahue.

  • Thank you Kym:)) You know I think its time to reinvent that song for the bird! I'm wondering if this flicker is pregnant...she is quite big! I'm wondering if you have a yellow or red shafted flicker...

  • That is a really nice looking bird :)

and thanks for using my music

  • I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the comment and thanks for sharing this beautiful emotional music.

  • the music goes great with the video, very nice, and a beautiful bird

  • I made this a month ago and shelved it because the music didn't sit well with me. Recently I found it and thought the music sounded just fine. Amazing what a month can do for an art piece...Thanks for watching and I'm happy you enjoyed the music:)

  • You should make a song for the Flicker, you make such good music. Yes, I think our are called Red Shafted flickers. The underside of their feathers are very orange. They have the greatest colors and patterns dont' you think?

    ciao for now,

    Kym

  • Fabulous beauty! Reminds me a bit of pheasants.

    Very nice video, Seahue. :-)

  • Hopefully you will get a visit soon. The big question will be: is it a yellow or red shafted?...

  • Nice looking bird.. We get the Northern Flicker in this area but I have yet to see one close up.

  • Ah.. I hope she is okay.. She's beautiful!
