Is Cow Shoal fly only?
-
@seismicrob2956 There were no wild trout here, they all came from the hatchery to start back in the 60s when the dams were built.

@gobarbless Saying that stocking hatchery trout over a wild population has no impact on that wild population is in contradiction with every study ever done, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I have never heard of anyone anywhere in the U.S. being allowed to harvest wild trout for commercial sale. That is just totally unbelievable.

I fly fish single barbless hooks & release 99% of the time. Once a year, I take back my limit of 5 bows - all small stockers that are only released in the river for fisherman. Only browns are natural to this area - do you eat hamburgers? Ever wonder how they end up on your plate? Also, ever think that maybe you're not cooking trout right? Let me know if you'd like a recipe. I've not forgotten my place on the food chain. R u a vegetarian or just a hypocrite? Tight lines.

what the fuck are these people talking about, there is nothing wrong with keeping that many fish. BTW, nice fish!!!
hey can someone tell me how to get to this spot or no?
mets2die4 1 year ago
@mets2die4 Sure. It's in heber springs, AR. The spots in the vid are Cow Shoals & JFK park. Simply drive into Heber & ask at a fly shop or gas station. Everyone in the town knows where these 2 access points are.

2 other guys fished with me that day. We split the catch & fed our respective families. Rainbow trout are tasty!

and now there are that many less fish to catch.....compound that with everyone else and soon there are none. buy your fish at the store.

@seismicrob295 The rainbows are grown and stocked in that fishery, which has zero impact on the natural fishes that live in the little red. Without the demand of fishing, the rainbow population would not even exist. Much of the fish you buy at the store was caught in nets out in the wild by commercial fisherman, which has a much lager environmental impact - do your research.
