While politicians discuss plans for the drawdown of troops from Afghanistan, in Camp Bastion resources for the Afghan Army are continually being developed.

With more than 500 tyres, the mentoring team have built a new driver-training course.

This will teach members of the ANA to drive patrol vehicles and navigate through Helmand's challenging terrain.

Built by WO2 Dave Brown from 24 Regiment RLC, he will be one of the instructors who'll be taking the first trainees through the circuit.

Every part of the training has to be translated from English into Pashtu or Dari and back again.

It's not a quick process, but the first instructors will graduate by the autumn.

They will then be leading the training to a whole new set of soldiers who will become qualified to take to the road.
