Philip Elsmore is the continuity announcer and this VHS recording includes:

-Thames TV ident
-Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense slate
-Entertainment Express slate

-ADVERTS-

-Jewson
-Ariel Automatic
-Wales Development Agency
-BP
-Mennen Speed Stick
-Timotei shampoo

Then Philip Elsmore appears on camera with a link to a VERY dated looking Entertainment Express, hosted by Mike Reid.

  • When I was a kid I remember my brother and I just laughed at that BP ad. 'Britain is a Pest' was our alternative tag. Funny huh (well, I was 12!).

  • Yes, I was also 12 at the time. Remember me and my brother joking about that one too!

  • Good clip!

  • Thanks

  • That Central ident was discontinued in November 1983.Yet this clip is meant to be 1984.Thames endboard says 1984.All Central repeats were with the new ident.Strange.

  • @indyandsam just head over to Emmerdale, he lives there now

  • OMG those nonces in leg-warmers at the end made me cringe so hard I actually nearly puked!

You should have a warning before that bit.

The following shocking 80s crap may waste your dinner and burn your sinuses with stomach acid/bile and possibly even feces. Viewer discretion is advised.

  • I was either still inside my Mum or is too young to remember these ads. Nce interesting look at how ad's were back in the day though. :)

  • jewsonj lot not i work there

  • Where did the singers suddenly appear from? A few bad edits there, methinks.

  • Mark the devil lmao

  • Jewson off!

    8-D
