http://www.yougoprobaseball.com/Landing_Page.html I created this exercise from the traditional Turkish Get Up but I put a little baseball twist into it. The regular turkish get ups are typically done with a kettle bell or dumbbell. For this workout I used a 4 lb mini med ball (a little bigger than a baseball). The other difference is that when you stand from the knee, you go directly into a throwing position as opposed to just standing up in the tradition exercise. This is a great workout for baseball players even if they wanted to add a little more weight like the regular turkish getups, there is not much stress on the shoulder even though it is over the head. It is stabilization and not a press or anything so it should be ok. Just don't go too heavy. I like the light 4 lb mini med ball the best. Just focusing of form and keeping the abs tight. This exercise will also create some flexibility in the hips because you have to swing your leg through each time. Let me know what you think by commenting! And don't forget to subscribe!!
